Remember when celebrities just sang songs or made movies? If you’re a reasonably famous celebrity today, making a blockbuster or selling a million records isn’t enough. You need to be a brand. It’s only a matter of time before a celebrity decides to add “designer” to their resume and create a clothing line. (Then it is only a matter of time before they add a perfume to their empire.) Some celebrities have been very successful expanding into clothes, shoes and accessories. Just take a look at

Jessica Simpson and her billion-dollar empire. It’s no wonder that everyone in Hollywood wants their own line, and I mean everyone.

Take a look at some of the most random celebrity clothing lines to ever hit stores:

1. David Hasselhoff, Malibu DaveDavid Hasselhoff>

David Hasselhoff decided to monopolize on the whole Baywatch thing again and launched his surf-inspired clothing line

Malibu Drive in the mid-2000’s. The “Don’t Hassel The Hoff” shirts may have been a surprise success with fans of ironic t-shirts but the clothing line couldn’t stay afloat. Sorry.

2. Brody Jenner, Archangel Accessories> at E11EVEN on July 19, 2015 in Miami, Florida.

It made total sense that >Lauren Conrad came out with a clothing line

because when we weren’t getting annoyed with Jason on The Hills, we were admiring what Lauren was wearing. But Brody?! Did

Speidi even come out with a clothing line? (

Heidi Montag did.) Brody collaborated with his friend

Jared Najjar on a “rock-inspired jewelry line.” Swimsuits probably would have done better.

3. Katherine Heigl, Peaches Uniforms CollaborationKatherine Heigl Peaches Uniform>

Just like

Tara Reid and her ingenious idea to capitalize on> Sharknado with her Shark perfume,

Katherine Heigl tried to maximize the success of Grey’s Anatomy with a line of scrubs with a collaboration with

Peaches Uniforms. Sadly, the line ended up going the same way as her television career.

4. Miley Cyrus, Max Azria And Walmart CollaborationMiley Cyrus Max Azria Walmart>

It isn’t surprising that

Miley Cyrus would come out with a clothing line. She’s always been a fashion icon, even during her Hannah Montana days. Her collaboration with designer

Max Azria to sell clothes at

Walmart just seemed like such as random idea. All three worked by themselves but not together.

5. Kevin Federline, Otzi ClothingKevin Federline>

It was reported back in 2009 that

Britney Spears‘ ex

Kevin Federline decided to expand his resume by designing a line of line of kids’ clothing. Not much has ever been heard about it since. There could be K-Fed sketches of oversized t-shirts and shorts for babies somewhere.

6. Chris Kirkpatrick, FuMan SkeetoChris Kirkpatrick>

Justin Timberlake wasn’t the only

*NYSNC member to try his hand at designing. (Remember

Willliam Rast is his brand.)

Chris Kirkpatrick also turned his hand at designing with his

FuMan Skeeto line in 1999. The clothes were apparently as head-scratching as the name. Who knows where they ended up because not even eBay has them.

7. Jon Gosselin, Gosselin GearJon Gosselin>

Jon Gosselin?!” you ask. Yes, the Jon & Kate Plus Eight star briefly became a clothing designer. He partnered with

Ed Hardy designer

Christian Audigier for a line in 2009. When you think back, he was already an unofficial spokesperson for the brand given his love of tacky tees so it made sense. Not really.
