Australian actress Jessica Falkholt, who was best known for her role on the soap “Home and Away,” died Tuesday.
She was 29.
Falkholt was taken off life support last week following a December car crash in New South Wales that had killed her parents and sister.
“Jessica passed away from serious injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on 26 December, 2017,” St. George Hospital said in a statement.
“The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Falkholt played Hope Morrison on the long-running Australian soap opera and recently booked a role in the upcoming American movie “Harmony.”
The Boxing Day car crash, which killed her sister, Annabelle, 21, father Lars, 69, and mother Vivian, 60, left her in a coma after multiple surgeries.
The driver of the other car, 51-year-old Craig Anthony Whitall, died at the scene.
“Jessica's shining talent was recognised and respected by all her cast mates and crew and her beautiful friendship treasured,” a spokesman for Channel Seven, which broadcasts “Home and Away,” said in a statement to the Telegraph.
"We send our sincere condolences to her extended family and friends during this difficult time."
