We're a teeny bit obsessed with Britain right now, and no, it's not because we get a day off thanks to the Queen's Jubilee. And it's not because the country will be swarming with fit athletic men during the Olympics either - honest it's not! The reason is because it gives us another excuse to get involved with a bit of quirky union jack nail art.
It's official, the union jack is making a comeback, and until now we've been somewhat wary (Geri Halliwell Brits dress anyone?) but we're up for some cool Britannia action on our talons!
Max Factor's nail supremo Zarra Celik has created an array of exclusive 'Cool Britannia' nail looks to take us through the summer months. Zarra says, "I loved creating these Max Factor British inspired nail looks. This summer all eyes will be on Britain, so why not celebrate British culture in style. My favourite nail look has to be the Union Jack flag, it's so easy to create yet has real impact!"
Zarra shares her tips on how to create the Union Jack nail look at home:
Dip a thin nail brush into Max Factor Max Colour Effect Mini Nail Polish in Ruby Tuesday, and paint a stripe down the middle of the nail. Once dry, paint two diagonal stripes in opposite directions, in the shape of an 'X'.
Next, using Max Factor Max Colour Effect Mini Nail Polish in Odyssey Blue paint triangles in between the red stripes.Advertisement - Continue Reading Below
Using a white nail striper, outline the edge of your red stripes and in between the blue triangles.
Finish with a coat of Max Factor Nailfinity Top Coat over the whole nail.
