Late last week, an East Valley mother was viciously murdered as she was getting her nails done.
The incident happened at a strip mall near the area of Baseline and Ellsworth roads.
Police say 30-year-old Lindsey Eastridge was stabbed to death.
"This woman was a customer of the nail salon and she was there finishing up her appointment," said Mesa police Det. Steve Berry, "at some point right near there, an adult male came in through the front door. The assault occurred; he went back out the front door."
Now her family is searching for answers. They say the worst part is her killer still has not been caught.
“She was just a really great person, a really good mom to all of her kids,” said Katie Hoyle, the victim’s sister-in-law.
Lindsey Eastridge was a wife and mom to two of her own children and two stepchildren, all boys.
Now her family has been trying to figure out how to go on without her. "She was kind of the glue that held us all together,” said Carla Webber, Eastridge’s sister.
On Friday, Mesa Police say a man walked into the salon where Eastridge was getting her nails done and stabbed her. She did not survive.
"There were a few other people in the business at the time...obviously when the assault started they all ran out the back of the business...so they weren't able to provide us with a ton of information,” said Det. Steve Berry with Mesa Police.
Police say it is unlikely this was a random act. Her family cannot believe someone would do this to her.
"It’s surreal still to even think about it. Everyone’s reaction is still ‘What? How?’” said Hoyle.
“Why?” added Webber. “Such a violent act? It makes no sense whatsoever. None."
Whoever did it disappeared before police could get there.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Mesa police at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
“She deserves justice. More than anything she deserves that,” said Webber.
Eastridge would have turned 31 on Valentine ’s Day.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe to pay for funeral expenses and to support her children now that she's gone.
