Ad trackers know everything about you, and so target you with ads you’re most likely to click on. Intently works on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (sorry smartphone users). Intently reads as an ad blocker to other sites and will probably trigger a sites’s ad blocker notification. While the images replacing the ads are somewhat inconsistent in their quality, they are usually more pleasing than what would be there: some image from a questionable e-commerce site I’ll never visit.
Intently isn’t perfect, but it is a decent ad blocker. Some ads it won’t replace, simply leaving an empty space in its place. Other bits of paid content, like ads recommended by Outbrain, are replaced with image after image of inspirational locale or motivational quote.
If you’re really into the idea of replacing ads with images you’ll appreciate, Intently does offer a premium subscription. From there you can import your own images, create your own groups of related images (called channels), and use Intently’s custom channel builder that pulls images based on your response to certain questions, all perfect for the motivation-oriented.
